To understand what decorative GRC is first lets clear up a few common miss comprehensions
Hi My name is Dave Mune . . I started out casting fine arts and bronze sculpture But some how became addicted to Cement when I started in 1990, the jump from Bronze to Composite stone 1n the early 90s there was no decorative cement industry as we know it today apart from the precast cement out of a latex rubber molds. This early industry we can all thank for the Garden Gnome ! I wanted nothing to do with this technology as the outdoor tables I was making then in precast concrete where just way to heavy , and seen here in 1992 I built my first GFRC machine as existing GFRC spray machines where made for large industrial flat panels, I redesigned and built my own so i could manufacture a new generation of composite cement outdoor garden decor . an industry I help start .

What is concrete ? :
concrete as defined as ‘a composite material composed of coarse aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement which hardens over time? Simply put “Sand, Cement and gravel ! OK Decorative Cement today typically has no course aggregate (gravel) and by definition is not concrete! more correctly defined as a Paste , Mortar or composite!
What is cement?:
“A cement is a binder, a substance used in construction that sets and hardens and can bind other materials together..’ OPC Ordinary Portland Cement is the most common and industrially, the most manufactured material on earth! But lets not define ourselves in decorative manufacturer as bound by OPC. in fact there are many contentious binders used in decorative manufacturer. OPC cement, SAC cement, High Alumina cement , CSA cement, Belite cement , Magnesia cements, Geo polymer cements to name a few
What is Decorative as apposed to industrial concrete?
Lets face it there is industrial concrete . roads , bridges , high rises , and then today there is furniture , fountains, urns , jewelry watches , light shades . Although most cement materials and application processes where originally conceived with industrial applications in mind, Today’s leading edge decorative manufacturers take these materials and process technologies and redefine them into a boutique craft industry,

What is GRC? What is GFRC? And why are there two acronyms?
Answer :
There is no difference in the meaning of GRC and GFRC ! thy are a composite of sand cement and Alkaline Resistant Glass fiber
The Letters stand for Glass fiber Reinforced Concrete . The fact that there is no gravel in GRC mortars would suggest that technically GFRC is not a concrete at all rather a Glass Reinforced Cement.
There are two distinctly different GRC systems , one is the "Premix process" the other is "Spray up process" .
In the premixed GFRC process pre-cut Alkaline Resistant Glass fibers are mixed into a cement slurry. This technique requires only very basic equipment, and the maximum fiber that can be added and still be workable is 2.5 - 3 %
In the Spray up GRC process special equipment sprays a cement mortar and chops the ARG fiber in a single operation . using this processing technique fiber cement composites of 5% or higher can be produced .

Why are there two acronyms?
Answer : GRC is an acronym for Glass Reinforced Concrete.! GFRC is what it is refereed to in America Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete! ?? . It was Pilkinton Brothers Glass in England who developed ARG ( making GRC possible ) and thy coined the term GRC and this new composite industry .

What is decorative GRC ?
Answer : Decorative GRC was the redefining and re-engineering what had been developed into an industrial process into a refined studio based process geared to producing smaller delicate decorative products as apposed to 6 meter long flat panels for high rise buildings
